What we actually do

You write
Type your letter on the site. Take five minutes or two hours. Pick a delivery date — six months, a year, five years out, the next New Year, your next birthday.

We seal it
Your letter is encrypted the moment you save it. We hand the print job to our mail partner with the future delivery date attached. From here it sits in a queue, waiting.

It arrives
On the morning of the day you chose, your letter is printed on heavy paper, sealed in an envelope, and dropped in the post. It lands in your hand a day or two later.

Will you read my letter?
Your letter is encrypted the moment you save it. The plaintext is decrypted only at print time, in memory, then immediately discarded. We can technically read letters before they're mailed; our process doesn't. See security.
What if you go away in six months?
Your letter sits with our print partner from day one — Stannp UK holds the durable schedule, not us. If write-self.org disappears tomorrow, your letter still mails on the day you chose.
Can I change my mind?
Yes — until the day before delivery, you can edit, reschedule, or cancel for a full refund. See FAQ.
What happens to my address?
Stored encrypted. Used only to print and post. Deleted after delivery if you ask. Never sold, never shared.
